Okay, maybe not real zombies.
A few months ago, I ran a weird little "game" on Facebook called Project Zompocalypse. The premise was simple: use your Facebook/Twitter account to document the discovery of a zombie apocalypse and your survival within it. It didn't get huge like we thought it would, but the 15 or so people who participated really liked it. So we're doing it again.
March 8th, 2012 (I know I'm very early on this) will be the day of Project Zompocalypse II. Once again, we're asking everyone to use their Twitters and Facebooks to document zombie survival day. The catch is, this time we, the creators, are doing it up big. I'm talking film, photos, we're even thinking of putting together a few fake newscasts. As such, we'd like to reach as large an audience as possible.
What can you do? For starters, I need 25 likes on the Project Zompocalypse Facebook page in order to give it a username and an easier URL to hand out. I'm currently up to (drumroll please) a whole 7 likes, so I'm falling a little short. If you could please "like" Project Zompocalypse on Facebook, and tell your friends to like it too. Our holy grail is some sort of media attention, a story on the news, a few blogs talking about us, maybe even some mentions by some (ahem) J-list internet celebrities who run a beer broadcast.

Also, we need people to help. If you can write, film, edit, or do ANYTHING else media related, please let me know! If you're willing to give up a day of work to organize a zombie walk, help run the game, or anything else, please let me know. I will take volunteers of all shapes, sizes and talents, and in the end you'll be part of something (hopefully) awesome.
If we can get this off the ground, we plan to do more things in a similar vein. Pervasive gaming, ARGs and transmedia storytelling are all things that fascinate me, that I LOVE to be on either side of, and if I can get a big enough audience, I can run some seriously awesome campaigns. I know that sounds like this is a D&D ripoff, but trust me, your friends will NOT make fun of you.
Please, if you have any questions, feel free to ask. If you'd like to volunteer, PM me here or on Facebook (My name is Jacob Moffitt from Albuquerque) or you can tweet me at @WholeEnchilada.
Thanks again, Army. I'll keep you updated as more information comes to light.
EDIT: Okay, so thanks to you guys and a host of others, we finally have our official URL. If you'd like to give it out to anyone, it's facebook.com/projectzed
We'll be using the page to keep people updated on the status of PZII, run contests, and plenty more once we get the support, but for now, if you'd like to participate in Project Zompocalypse II (and you should) then all the information you need will flow forth from that page.
Thanks for coming through, BN Army!
