Fun with scammers

Mon Mar 21, 2011 10:51 am

Hope this isn't too long,
My wife's e-mail got hijacked this morning. I didn't expect to get a reply when I replied back, but had some fun with it after that. I am timcarlo@gmail.com, my wife is cmcpetdock@gmail.com, the scammer has also set up a reply to email address of cnncpetdock@gmail.com. We got the account back and everything seems in order, but still wary.

Pretty amazing that you actually had any contact with the scammer. I too, am often tempted to yank their chains like that but one reason not to even open a suspected scam e-mail (much less respond to one) is that if you do, they will know that they have reached a working e-mail address and continue to abuse it.

i like to do the same sort of thing. Lead them on as much as possible then tell them to f* themselves. Some of them are quite dumb.
