1 Year Aged bottle of Abyss

Fri Dec 26, 2014 11:03 am

Looking for some advice.

I have a bottle of 2013 Abyss that I have saved. Me and my wife are going to crack it openj next week for her birthday. Should I drop it in the fridge for a day or just leave it out for room temp? Looking to get the best taste out of it.

Suppose we can chill it, pour it, leave it out, and finish it at room temp and compare ourselves as well. Heh.

Any ideas appreciated.

Serve it chilled then taste it as it warms up. I have done this with the Abyss with friends each year. Some of my friends enjoy it at a different temperature than my preference.
I usually buy two bottles. One to open and one to cellar then do a flight of the last 5 years.
Dump bad beer, don't give it to your friends

Great beer. Start it at Cellar temp and savor it slowly. You'll be amazed as flavor after flavor comes out.
Chocolate, Espresso, Roasted malts, leather, molasses, licorice, vanilla, oak, you're in for a treat. It's an awesome beer.
