Mold

Does anyone have any experience with mold. What do you look for? Is it white or black. I have a batch of English Bitter in a secondary for 10 days and I see some white patches on the surface. This is my first batch in 10years and I hate to give up now. Am I hosed?

Ok lets calm down here is this white substance clear or fluffy looking. The clear looking stuff if ya look at it is probably very tiny co2 foam bubbles on top. If they are not co2 bubbles is would probaly be possible to rack from under it into secondary. But most importantly taste it before dumping and if it tastes bad wait still. That is until ya talk to oz he gets kind a pissy about it cause he says it is still good for making beer snaups.
