Question by Charlie, August 27, 2010
The foodie in me just splurged all over my computer... but anyway...

What does Paxton think about spicy food (Thai/Mexican/Buffalo) and IPA's & PA's? I keep hearing its a good pairing, but every time I try it I think it clashes too much. One completely destroys the other, and becomes uncomfortable after having too much heat and bitterness for me. Just want to know what his opinion is, because I think scottish ales are a much better pairing.

Answers by Sean Z. Paxton, August 27, 2010
The Z. stands for Zane.

Steve - That is why there are stores open 24hrs!

Charlie - It's interesting. Sometimes IPA's & PA's work well with spicy food. Other times a malty beer like a Baltic Porter, Maibock or 89 Schilling works better. All depends on the dish being paired with!

Cheers,

Sean

Sweet! by Aisha, August 29, 2010
Can't wait to listen to the show, but can you tell Justin to get the RSS link fixed. It just takes you back to the brewingnetwork.com and I can't find the show in the iTunes store. I downloaded the mp3 manually though.....

ARGHH! by Jason, September 09, 2010
I just listened to the podcast and can't wait for more shows. Love food, love beer. Great stuff! Though I am very upset that I won't be able to get to Mas Farmhouse for the dinner, (just a little out of my budget at the moment) though I will definitely be saving up for one of your dinners soon. Maybe NHC in San Diego? Keep up the great work.

awesome by Sgt_USMC, January 13, 2011
I just wanna say this show is awesome, anytime I'm home the wife expects me to cook. I was just wondering if you had any suggestions for a Christmas spice porter (has ginger and allspice in it)?

Pollack? Not from Minnesota. by Steve, February 21, 2011
Just caught your first show and, as a homebrewer and neophyte foodie, I really enjoyed it. I look forward to listening to more episodes.

There was one small error, though - there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that the pollock prepared in Minneapolis was caught in Minnesota. Might have been a walleye, northen pike, crappie, perch, but pollock is a salt water fish.

Best regards and continued success,
Steve
