Great show, I will be trying the recipe soon by Matt, February 19, 2009
I already had a clone planned that I found on brew365, but after hearing this, I am changing the recipe.

I was wondering why the brewer said that the SRM was around 38, but in using beersmith to create the recipe, I only get to 19 given 87%, 2-row 10% crystal 80, 2.8% chocolate, and .3% black patent.

Also, I you mentioned this on the show after smelling the beer, but the brewer said there were 2 additions of liberty, 1 before and 1 after the willamtte addition, but you suggest skipping the before addition?

Thanks for this and I look forward to all the upcoming episodes.

Also, i would also like to throw in a suggestion for a beer that is no longer made as the owner died and the brewery closed down after the company that purchased it did not handle things correctly and went out of business.

Anyways, the brewery was Bert Grant's and the beer was "perfect porter" and it was most certainly that. This is about the only thing on the internet I can find on it:

Anyways, good luck on the future shows, I look forward to listening to them.

Great show by Holly, February 23, 2009
I love the new idea of cloning beers and was wondering if you could do Avery IPA, thanks. I also loved Grants beers so I would vote for that one too smilies/smiley.gif

Great show by Reed, February 23, 2009
Moose Drool is one of my favorites so I was happy to see this beer kick off the new show. How about doing a show on Flying Dog's Gonzo Imperial Porter? It's an incredible beer and hard to find since they only brew it a few times each year. I'd love to be able to have a clone of it fermenting away in my basement right now... smilies/grin.gif

Hay Jamil,
WHat a show!! Thanks for your (and Tasty's) effort in informing us.

I'd like to offer a challenge for your new show. Can you clone "Kentucky Breakfast Stout" by Founders Brewery in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

They make many FANTASTIC beers.

Again, Thank you for your shows...and all the folks that help put them together.

Pete

Hard to find clone by Mike C-Z, March 04, 2009
Thanks guys. It is really great that you are doing this. There are a lot of great beers to try and clone, so have fun deciding, brewing, and tasting! My wife-and I-love Great Divide's St. Bridget's Robust Porter. Is there any way you could work on a clone of this beer? I have searched the web, but haven't found anything. Thanks.

Considering it's limited availability, and it's underground cult status, I think that an attempt at cloning Kate The Great from Portsmouth Brewery(NH)would be an amazing feat. Having met the Head brewer,Tod Mott, I can tell you that he is an intellegent and passionate brewer that help to make for a great show!
Keep up the good work guys!

Little Creatures Pale Ale! by Mark Hewitt, March 15, 2009
Hey Tasty and Jamil, g'day from Perth, Australia! Thanks for the great shows, it's a great concept and I really hope that one day you may be able to have a shot at making what I consider to be the finest beer in my area, the Little Creatures Pale Ale. Take care!

Alpha King is King! by Brent, May 01, 2009
Hey Guys,

Love your show, and the inspiration behind it. I would like to throw a request into the ring. My favorite beer in the world is Alpha King, by Three Floyd's Brewing Company in Munster, Indiana. I promise it would be worth your sluething efforts.

Show Suggestion by Joseph Haines, January 24, 2010
So everyone it seems (at least everyone with an internet connection who brews beer) seems to be trying their best to clone Wychwood's Hobgoblin ale and failing miserably, including me. I'd love to hear a show for this brew.

Thanks for the consideration!

I would like to know how close we can get to cloning a Westvleteren Trappist beer. Its constantly a top rated beer seems like thats one we should take a crack at.

Port Brewing Company - HIGH TIDE IPA by Justin, February 12, 2011
Tasty & Jamil,
Thank you for all of the priceless, tasty, can't find anywhere else recipes. One beer I can never seem to get enough of (especially because it is only available seasonally) is the High Tide IPA by Port Brewing Company. This beer is dripping with the flavor and aroma of Simcoe & Amarillo. So I ask you, Can You Brew It?
