OK,,
So say you have quick connects on the outputs of your conical... and you use the racking port to pump the wort into the fermenter. OK so,,, you close the ball valve, add some yeast and let it ferment... So what about the trapped unfermented wort in the "ball" of the ball valve.. might me 2ml or so... and I leave it in primary for 14 days....
SO, when I open the ball valve to keg it,,, there will be that little bit of beer that was stuck in the ball,, Of course I could just dump the first couple of OZ...
I guess the question is,, what do you guys think about that little bit of trapped wort,, is there more chance for infection because that little bit does not ferment, if it does go bad or something it could infect the whole batch on the way out...
Just a random thought today, using my conical for the 1st time...
Over thinking it or what do you guys think..
