more pics to come, but got my ranco installed today. Hooked up to the AC unit for a test and works great. Heading to Sams to buy a steel shelve, then some great stuff for sealing and we're ready to rock.
I have a feeling im gonna love this controller. Being able to have precise control over temp is gonna blow my mind. I do have one question though, i read somewhere(BYO mag) about using a WL yeast vial for the temp probe, but it had some sort of solution in it? anyone remember what it was?

Water. At least the one I read about. Seal it well so it doesn't all just evaporate away.
Aging: Gotlandsdrickå, Baltic Porter in Bourbon barrel, Olde Ale #2 in whiskey barrel
On Draft: Nothing. Building a walk-in cooler right now.

Sweet! Got me bringing the Hate!

I like the idea of the metal studs for making it movable. I have an idea about this. Instead of the metal studs which could transmit heat eaisily, what about a sandwich construction? 1/4" Luan, then pink foam board insulation as thick as you can afford, then 1/2" OSB or plywood, Pink foam, luan. If you use screws just long enough to go through the Luan and into the 1/2" core from both sides you should have a strong structural panel without anything transmitting the heat or the cold through it directly. I would like to build this with 2" insulation when I can affort it. I also think if you are going that far I would rap each pannel in 1x pine to protect the foam. Just need a way to seal between the pannels.

Any thoughts?
Prost!

Christian

If you're referring to this:

I know you want to measure liquid temp, but what was the goop for? why not just water. Its late, im tired and didnt find what i was looking for other than its the ice pack goop.
