Large Stir Plate

Sat Jun 28, 2008 8:07 pm

I have a 5000 ml flask and I can't find a stir plate to go with it retail or DIY. Anyone have any great DIY project they've had success with that could handle that large of a flask? Cheers,

I'm in the midst of doing a DIY for the same reason. I acquired a 5" 110v computer fan and I am going to use a house dimmer knob for a rheostat keeping the whole project 110v. I'm thinking this should suffice as it should have about 10x the amperage of the usual homebrew models.

Sounds like a good project Sven, let me know how it turns out, a stir plate that can handle a 5000 ml is at the top of my brewing to do list

I'd like such a stir plate too.

Figured I could follow Erik Beer's How-To and come up with something usable.

Let us know how this works out for you, Sven.
