I just picked up a Johnson A419ABC-1C for around $60. So far I really like it.

The unit that DannyW has cited above can be found unwired on eBay for about $50, and you can't have too many. I have three and all are being used.

1 to control refrig for lagering
1 to control ferment locker for Ales
1 to control mash temp

Very easy to wire.

I love playing with my Johnson so much that I bought two of them. I only use that analog dial to get the temperature in the ball park. I had a couple digital indoor/outdoor thermometers someone gave me. I use those to monitor the actual temperature so I can tweak the control on the Johnson.
