I'm a co-op at a large chemical company. I put in the long hours yesterday so they took it easy on me today. I'm at home now... got to peace out early. Working in the finance division for now.

Oh and in case you're not familiar, co-op = paid internship. This is my 3rd and final co-op at Drexel University. I gave up my summer vacations for a 5 year college education with 3, six month co-ops.

Well yesterdays brew day was interesting to say the least. I woke up and it was cold and snowing at a good pace. By the time i got set up outside the snow ceased, awesome. Went well until the mistaken early hop addition, the the staqrsan in my chiller froze, so had to run hot water over it and through to unfreeze, and re-clean and sanitize. However, the new whirlpooler worked great. Since I Dont have a mega huge starter flask yet, all my starters get up to 1000 ml and thats it. I could do growlers, but not enough time. I woke this morning to a nice foamy fermentation perking away nicely. Glad i got this done and eager to send it out and taste others brews as well. this was one of my colder brew days at 18*, only to get colder now

I brewed this last weekend on the new system and, sadly, I have to brew it again. I was too low on my FG, and I was too drunk to do the wet t-shirt and fan thing. I checked the temp on monday and it was cruising along @ 75 degrees

Needless to say, I'm brewing again on Monday.
I think I've had about enough beer tonight...Now I need some Whiskey to sober up

Bottle it and send it to the Thirsty Mallard, Captain of the BN Army Disposal Team.

I was just curious what temperatures everyone is fermenting at. I decided to go at 68 F to see what kind of profile the yeast gives. Usually that yeast should be fermented around 63-65 I believe. Also 1000 ml starter is plenty for this low of a gravity.
on tap: horse feed oatmeal stout, brown porter, honey pale.

In Reserve: oaked imperial amber, dopplebock, imperial IPA,baltic porter.

In fermentors: Imperial stout, APA, brown porter, american brown ale, belgian pale.
