B3 missed 2 oz of hops on an order I placed and when I called them on it they overnighted them at their expense so I could brew that weekend. All I asked for is that they ship them to me because I paid for them. I was happy they went above and beyond my expectations to fix the problem.

1st time I ordered, I got a leaky bottle of Star san and the wrong stopper with my flask. I think they recently changed flasks, and the old size didn't work with the new flask. And the star san just has really crappy sealing caps. Stopper was their fault and they corrected it no questions asked, and the star san wasn't really their fault, but they gave me a a few bucks credit for the soggy box and missing star san.

They went out of their way to correct it, so I am pleased. I'll use them again, just don't have much to buy at the moment. I get all my grain and ingrediants from a great LHBS.

Ive had great experiences with them. I normally do pickup of grain from Riverside and do my hardware there or mail order it from B3.

This weekend I made it up to the Concord shop. I was upset beacuse they were having a staff meeting so I did not get to talk to anyone but the low totem behind the counter. I even brought some beer up!

I've never had anything but positive experiences with MoreBeer. There have been a few times it has been in my favor to jump up the totem pole a bit and ask for Chris or JP when I have problems with the floor guys but in the end they always take care of me.
I absolutely support my LHBS as much as possible. They run my homebrew club, The Sonoma Beerocrats, and they're really great people, they're just a bit...well...behind the times when it comes to tech advancements in brewing. They do a lot of wine supply as you can imagine in Sonoma County Ca., and cheese as well. I'll turn to MoreBeer when I need supplies that they don't carry or ingredients they don't sell enough of to keep around. They have an online store as well, check em' out.

BeerPal wrote:So not every single order is processed with complete efficiency and speed. Big fucking deal. They're only the largest homebrew supply in the world. If they are aware of a customer's problem, they will bend over backwards to make it right. No exceptions. And nobody does more to support homebrewers and their hobby. I've gotten so much free advice, free beer, free food, free ingredients and free swag from them, it ain't funny. I'm a loyal customer for life. B3 rocks.

Don't misintrepret my comment big guy, it was just a jab at JP.
If you would have seen my order, its a wonder they got it out that soon. It had shit loads of small miscellanous parts, o rings, poppets, check valves. clamps, etc. etc. It had to be a PITA to pick. Morebeer is first rate and as I said, I have always had great service from them. I also believe in supporting everyone who supports the BN, so I think its a good idea to throw some orders to NB. I actually recommend B3 to local guys who can't find stuff locally, they seem to carry stuff the others may not.

I wish I had a local store that had fresh ingredients nd reasonable prices. Mine sounds like the one Bugeater doesn't mention; mostly stale extract. The owner is really nice though, and I buy small hardware like keg QD's and whatnot.

I like to shop B3, NB, Austin Homebrew, and Quality Ales on the internet and have had nothing but great orders from them. It depends on what kinds of grains I'm looking for when I order, and who has them. I get almost all hardware from B3. I think I prefer navigating B3's website when shoppping, though tI thought the old one was laid out better. It still take me less time to find everything I need.

I do have one bad experience though: with DIY. I ordered hops earlier this month and they arrived in 1oz ziplock baggies which I could smell through the box, and on my front porch. Not a good sign, so I ripped the box open and got to work combining everything into a foodsaver bag. As a matter of habit, I weigh everything and I noticed the first bag contained 27 grams (0.9 oz). "Oh well," I thought. "Maybe my scale needs to be tared." But I noticed they were all like that, so I got out the triple beam to double check. Sure enough every bag was short. I thought to give them the benifit of the doubt and I weighed the bags themselves (including the container weight is an easy mistake), but they didn't acccount for the shortage. All totalled, I was short 1.2 oz from a 20 oz order.

So I sent a courteous email suggesting they might look into their packaging techniques to see what could be improved, and also to request the published AAU's on the hops they sold me. It wasn't angry, nor did I accuse them of wrong doing. I still haven't gotten a response, so I'm a little wary of any future mail orders through them. Too bad, since they support the BN.

What's wrong with pinching the sack? Just kidding that's kind of bogus, especially the fact that they didn't respond to your email. Good thing you had that triple beam laying around.

See? Hops are turning out more and more like the cousin. Poor Brandt got his hops pinched by the middleman dealer .... :(
