Kick Ass Grain Mill

Mon Aug 27, 2007 6:41 pm

When I see grain mills discussed here everyone talks about those wimpy things sold at home brew shops. For our homebrewing demonstration at the Nebraska State Fair last weekend, we brought out a proper mill.

Here we are with a corn grinder from around 1920 and a John Deere hit and miss engine that isn't much newer. We ground over 75 pounds of grain in less than 15 minutes with this setup.

I just missed you then bug, I was there when the Lagers were heating up their strike water but my son was spent and needed to go home so we left. That is pretty cool and my son would have loved that as he is a John Deere freak!!
