Northern Brewer- used 10 gallon SS pots for 59.95

Tue Mar 06, 2007 9:40 am

I just got an e-mail from Northern Brewer and it has an listing for 10 gallon used SS pots for 59.95

I had trouble with the link in the e-mail, but they have it listed here:

http://www.northernbrewer.com/kettles.html

A 10gal polarware pot runs 128.25

Here is the excerpt:

USED 10 GALLON KETTLES
----------------------
We have come across a ton of used 10 gallon stainless steel kettles
and we are selling them for the unbeatable low price of $59.95.
These kettles are very similar to our plain Polar Ware 10 gallon
stock pots (the ones without any valves) -- similar gauge, weight
and dimensions. Be warned, these kettles have been abused, and need
some TLC. They have been stored outside for a while and have
substantial dings and dents. They will need a good cleaning, and
probably a little bit of work with a rubber mallet to remove dents
and flatten out the bottom. If you're looking for a bunch of cheap
10 gallon boiling kettles/hot water tanks, you are unlikely to find
a lower price. First come, first served, limit four per customer.

I have no use for any more pots but I'm still tempted to get one!

It really doesn't seem like a great deal to me. The pictures of them look like crap. Some have dents in them that seem to extend to the middle of the pot (ie severe). Plus the fact that they were stored outside for an extended period of time and that makes it less than worth it, to me at least.

Yeah I wouldn't mind getting a few also. But i have a pregnant wife and she insists that we buy things for the new baby... I think her priorities are off a bit.

Naw, women buy things that don't fit and complain that it was made wrong.
