I think that the difference between 45 and 60 degrees is very considerable. Then again, without a dump valve the slope doesn't really matter too much. The only positive thing that I can see in this product is that it is a stainless fermenter for under $200. For me, being able to dump yeast for reuse or to get it out of contact with the beer is the only compelling reason to spend 10-50 times more than a better bottle would cost. If they added temperature control, I would feel differently about the product.

I got mine and I have to say I was impressed with the quality. The welds are fine inside, as a matter of fact the inside is smooth. The stainless is not paper thin and it's actually a decent price. The valve is not flimsy either. The purpose of the conical bottom is to collect trub mostly, and some of the yeast. But mostly to reduce the surface area of proteins and hop particulate that may fall during the lag phase. I don't see why one would think the trub/yeast wouldn't collect in the cone any less than a conical, seeing as the angle is steep enough. The only downside is that you cannot utilize the cone by dropping trub or collecting yeast, but you can take gravity readings without removing the lid (however you will want to remove the airlock or take the blowoff out of the water to prevent suck-back). According to the website the price is so low because they want to make stainless attainable to the average homebrewer. I'm thinking they are counting on volume of sales instead of high margins. Seeing as how they have been sold out for a while, the strategy could be working. Anyway, I am a customer. I don't work for the company nor have I been compensated in any way, but I did review this piece of equipment yesterday. thought I'd share it with any interested BN'rs. .

Can you give me dimensions... Height and diameter, I emailed them weeks ago and have gotten no response. I am just wondering if it will fit in my fermentation chamber

Thank you!

It's 13" at it's widest, which is at the lid and 21" high without the airlock. Mine sits 26" high with the airlock (I use the s-shaped bubbler type).
