Monterey, CA area?

My adviser is going to be spending time in the Monterey area in a few weeks and was wondering about the beer scene there. So... what good bars, breweries, beer pubs, bottle shops can you fine folks recommend he go to while out there?

Not a beer suggestion. but my wife and I really enjoyed the Fish House.
