Blichmann 2bbl Equipment

Sat Oct 20, 2012 9:41 pm

I participated in an online Q&A with John Blichmann and asked if they would be expanding the size of their equipment since so many nano breweries are using Blichmann's larget kettles and fermentors. He said that they will be rolling out a 2 barrel brew pot in 2 weeks and a 2 barrel conical in the next few months.

I am glad they are doing this.

Did he mention anything about larger burners to handle the larger volume?

I had some correspondence with John Blichmann recently about using Blichmann Boilermaker 30 gallon kettles for the HLT and Mash tun, and a 55 gallon kettle for the brew kettle, and his response was that the burners in his Top Tier system can only accommodate the 30 gallon kettles. He suggested using stoves made by American Stove (http://americanrange.com/stoves/hdstoves.html), but I am exploring the PychoBrew System (http://www.psychobrewllc.com/pages/systems.html), and Stout Kettles 1 BBL equipment (http://conical-fermenter.com/about/atta ... ng-system/).

Hope these resources are useful.
