Beer Water Park-fermenter

OK! I had this idea (possibly stupid, possibly brilliant). I pulled an old powerhead out of the box of aquarium parts and ran a hose up to a T. The T has a loop of hose going from one side to the other. So I have this powerhead now going into a loop. I put holes in it and set it over my carboys. So instead of just having the carboy sitting in water with a t-shirt, I now have my carboy, in water, wearing a t-shirt, WITH WATER TRICKLING DOWN THE SIDES! I don't know if it is doing a damn thing to bring my temp down because it just got cold, but it looks cool. Does anybody have any insight into what I did? Will it help?

As long as the water is cooler than the beer it will cool it... and it is most likely more efficient than evaporation alone.
