Keg/carboy cleaner

Sun Jan 22, 2012 9:38 am

Hey everyone
With my brew day plans yesterday getting trashed I figure I'd build a keg carboy cleaner. I'm running it for the first time today and noticed a slight problem, extreme excess foaming. I normally clean my stuff with oxyclean and sanitize with star san. Has anyone had better luck with keeping the foaming down in one of these cleaners with either different cleaners or by adding something to the solution?
On tap: dunkelwiessen, american brown ale

don't fear the foam from star san.
Lots of things affect sudsing in cleaners. Mineral hardness really does, so does vinegar. Might try one of those.

Use PBW instead of Oxyclean and Saniclean instead of Star San. It will help a lot with foaming. I tried Oxyclean too but ended up giving it to my wife to use.
