Are you saying that B.B.B sells an attatchment with a stone that will fit that tank? Hmm, I didn't know that. Wow, I gotta get out more often.

Not to encourage un-needed spending, but... I just picked up a big (like 5ft. by 8in.) O2 tank and a 5# CO2 tank for $60 ($50 and $10 respectively) off of craigslist. Figure I'll use it for welding too.

Does anyone know if there's a regulator w/ a gauge that can be used with the red 02 canisters? I've been using them, but would like to monitor output.

I use the red canisters as well. Just buy a flow meter and put it after the regulator.

BTW, here is a picture of what I use. It's range is 0-1.2 LPM. You can pick these up on ebay for $45. Make sure you get the model WITH the valve.

I've heard that you you can get adequate oxygen into your starter by shaking it for a few minutes(usually i would doubt this, but i think doc or jamil said it). If this is true than you might think about skipping the 90 seconds into your starter.

That's what I've always done. Shake really hard for a couple minutes. '
Loosens up the back muscles too.

I used to just stir in my fermenter to oxygenate, then I moved to Colorado and 5000' and started having stuck fermentations. I started using a stone and oxygen tank and haven't had problems since. My starters are still getting the manual stir treatment.
