Well, let me first say that all of this is for the future - I'm still collecting stuff for AG and as soon as I get my chiller I'm there. That said, I just can't pass this thing up if they're going to throw it away, even if it is beyond my needs at the moment. I'd for sure have to make it narrower; the doorway to my brewshed is 35", and this thing is 33", a bit too close.
A 2100 one off is a good idea. I can arc-weld, but have never tried MIG or TIG. I'd rather leave that to someone that can do it well. I could probably even do the angle-iron & carriage bolt thing and customize it that way too.
I presently have a euro keg for hlt and a 1/2 bbl for boil, and a "max cold" cooler for a mash tun.
Thinking toward the future, I've been looking at the Cabelas "boil pots" that Henning discovered - they're heavy-gauge stainless, and really reasonable - even the 20gal model goes for $130 or so. They're building a Cabelas in St. Louis so I'll have an opportunity to just go see them and if I end up going that route, pay no shipping.
This thing is seriously built. The steel is really heavy and the fabrication work on it is awesome. I sure hope the owner will part with it. I'm going to try to talk to him tomorrow - I'll let you all know what he says.
Oh, by the way Push, the glamour shots photos are in the mail to you.
