I dug up a recipe for an Ordinary Bitter that contains a small amount of light brown sugar, my question is, do I add this to the mash or straight to the boil kettle? I'm guessing to the boil kettle since afterall mashing is removing sugars from the grain and this is already sugar. Or will the mashing process have a different effect on the brown sugar that necessitates mashing it?
