You sure you're not talking about Doug's at 37th? Pretty damn good, and only west BBQ joint I know that does Goat.

The old standard for East bay joints for a very long time (albeit between fires and closures) was Flints on Telegraph between Ashby and Alcatraz. Back in '73, I think I may have been the first cracker kid to frequent the place. Big gal with the cleaver always called me "Dawlin".

I'm pretty sure it was around 20th or so. If we went up toward 36th, we would head over to Daves at 42nd & Broadway. Is Daves even there anymore?

I wish I had tried more bbq in the bay area. The 'cue served at BNA4 was awesome. I should have tried more.

Well if you wonder your way up to the North Bay, in Cotati approx 30-40 mins north of SF there is Porter Street. I loved that place when I lived up there.

Day trip. Head to Castroville. Go to Central Texan BBQ. Your search for BBQ will end there. Just sayin'.
