I finally got my chest freezer converted. Seven beers on now including my tower, 9 should be next month when I get more shanks. Here they are

how it started. You should have seen the inside. Way worse off...

It's not done yet, I am still going to top it with a sheet of stainless and some stained wood trim. The stainless alone will cost me as much as it will to make it six taps on the freezer so that's on the back burner. I'll post pics when I'm done with that.

Thanks for the kudos.

I was drooling over the posts on this thread for months before I came up with my design.

I'm happy with it.

Well BN let me know what you think. I have been working on this for a few months mostly waiting for money and parts but I finally finished. I had my first beers tonight. Made the tap handles myself and the design is what I have been dreaming up over the past few years.

This is a work in progress but serves me well. I am putting in a creamer faucet and beer gas soon. I would like to make the collar higher so I can fit taller items on the compressor hump; I plan on insulating the back of it as well.

Very nice. Do you do anything to keep the lines cool from the fridge to the tower?
Aging: Gotlandsdrickå, Baltic Porter in Bourbon barrel, Olde Ale #2 in whiskey barrel
On Draft: Nothing. Building a walk-in cooler right now.

foomench,

I have an old PC fan in a hobby box mounted in the fridge that blows cold air through the 3 inch pipe up into the tower. There is not a lot of flow but it is enough to cause some condensation on the top of the tower. I used a piece of 3/4 tubing attached to the box to push the air to the top of the tower. I tried to seal the tower and insulate it as best as I could. The cold air flows from the tower back into the fridge. The whole thing is in my garage so in the middle of the day it does not do to well in the heat. Even with the heat the first part of the poor measures at 65ish. I blocked the space around the gas line entry with some plumbers putty to keep it from loosing cold air sense they share the same pipe entry into the fridge.

The Beast wrote:Here is a pic of my kegerator, i originally (and may in the future) wanted the fridge to be at some other location and have the barrel just mounted to a wall and the lines connecting, but keeping the lines cold and foam are two obstacles that I would need to overcome. The tap handle on the left is some driftwood i found while kayaking (still needs work) and the one on right is a fake piece of poo that I cut in half and drilled out, not the best handle, I know, but its what I got for now. I have a small co2 tank, so it chills in the fridge for now.

This is one i am in the process of finishing for my dad for fathers day (please disrgard the paint job on the fridge, i know its terrible) The shoulderpads mount to the fridge with wingnuts so it is easily removed and I may make other tops for diff sports seasons. The top of the fridge is also a chalkboard (you can see that my 2-year old has already wiped off the happy fathers day message) and finally, when you pour a glass, you will hear the "Here we go STEELERS, here we go!" song or possibly some audio clips from the season on the re-recordable set-up that i got (just like a talking pic frame) this is what I got for now, i hope to do some more of this type of stuff in the future, and ill post pics if I ever do.

Both need alot of fine tuning, but I think they are off to a good start.

Dude,

Wow - those handles look like something out of a porn movie. One for the front door and one for the back.
