pussy

Well obviously the PTE isnt gonna get the vote, looks to be the Saison (which is a great style) just going off the chatter.

Alright. I just got my Zymurgy today. Wasn't as big as I thought it was. I'll vote for PTE.

I think that it would be awesome take on the show for us to try to do this. It would never have to be mentioned on the show. We should see how well we can take the advice and information and turn it into a clone or not. Judging of course would have to be side by side with the commercial example.

For fucks sake, maybe even if we asked nicely, one of the breweries might be willing to help out by making their beer fresh and available to us. There maybe a catch....it would take lots of planning, but if we found someone that writes well, we might be able to turn this into an article in Zymurgy (which is probably what we'd have to do to get a brewery to send two bottles of their beer out to 15 or so different addresses). I've worked with prize donations for homebrew competitions. Usually if you ask for something specific like this, they are willing to help out.

any thoughts?

It may be a while before that happens! I think I've figured it out (for the most part), but new system adjustments have wreaked havoc on my old recipes. I did, however, score a 43 with an American IPA I brewed on it!

I like the idea of doing the Pliney the Elder clone (just drained my last IPA), but I'm happy to brew anything. Any idea of what we would have scheduled as a brew date? It may take a while to source some ingredients (depending on recipe).

Has anyone suggested a time-frame yet for when to brew and when to ship?
I am basically like a broken record when it comes to saison. I like to brew and drink them and I've participated in saison swaps before that were really fantastic. We all brewed different beers. We tasted them live in a chat-room so it's a little different format than the community brew.

I would like to participate if possible, but I will be moving soon and it might effect my brewing. So If you guys decide on a time-line, I can decide if I'm in or not.

BooBoo I think that is a great idea... If it is decided on a CYBI beer I am about 15 min away from Flossmoor Station, if we go with the Pulman Brown. I can drive over there and speak with the brewer. As far as writing I suck at it. Cheers!

If this heat wave doesn't break soon, I will vote for a Saison, or something I can ferment warm. Unless someone wants to send me a spare temp controlled conical. . .

I went ahead and made a poll. I could only add 10 options to it.

I voted Lagunitas IPA since I think it would be a really cool to do a CYBI beer, and I think this one is widely available (well I think it is, Lagunitas is pretty big and the IPA is available at most of the liqueur stores here  which seems like pretty good logic right now)
I drink beer, and then I vote

On tap:
Smoked Wheat Ale
APA
Rye Pale Ale

Conditioning:
lambic for a club barrel project
Red Flanders club barrel project
Mead with blackberries
Mead with cheeries
American Barley Wine
