I'm pretty sure I can cobble together something crappy and pseudo functional - at least to faciliate communication on the next one. The biggest issues in the past are due to missed deadlines. However, I think that we have learned some things.

#1) It ain't cheap. Expect to pay $30-$50 to send your brews out. I hope to find a solution to this in the future - maybe some sort of volume discount as this grows. In the meantime, I can try to make the groups smaller - so you are only sending out max of three brews. That should save everyone some cash.
#2) It takes a while - right now - as it is all manual and deadlines are loosely enforced. I hope that when we have a workable website, then we can run these concurrently and there will always be one to join at any given time.
#3) Last minute backouts will be expected to judge, and will be expected to send out some local micro - in lieu of the community brew. Once you are in, you are in. Perhaps not in thye competition - but we always need judges - and everyone should get a bottle back for their bottle sent.

Now my opinion on the brew - it's summer. It's hot all over the country. I would probably suggest a Saison - for both brewing and shipping reasons. Let's save the sticky icky hops for the fall? That's just my opinion. Carry on.

BTW - We gave Shat some shat for dragging ass on the second round. He assured us that the Janet's Brown 2nd round entries are in his chest freezer and will be on an upcoming show. Can't really fault the brotha - he's been busy as a mofo for BNA4/NHC.

I just want it on record that the "re-brewed" Janet's Brown Ale that you wouldn't let me send in to the final round of CB 2 won Sam Adams Long Shot category 10. :D so, you guys are lucky!!!

My vote is for a CYBI beer!!!

I'm game for anything. I missed out last time (wasn't reading as much), but would like to get involved this time.

I think it would benefit this community brew attempt if once we decide on the recipe we set it up with Justin (Shat's fired) on a date for the final on air tastings. J-is that ok with you to "plan" something a couple months out?

I think we need to narrow it down to the styles or recipies that seem to be the most popular among us, then put it to a pole. (yes, I know how it's spelled) :asshat:

ie:
Saizon BCS recipie
Saion freestyle
Kolsch
Blonde Ale
CYBI (insert recipie)
CYBI (insert recipie)

oh and congrats BE!

So far we have:

Pliny Clone
CYBI Green Flash West Coast IPA
CYBI Lagunitas IPA
Saison (bjcp 16c)
Saison BCS
Doc's Scottish 70
Brother Levonian Saison
Kolsch
Blonde Ale

I say we do like 006 suggested and create a poll (pole). You guys want to give it maybe 2 more days for suggestions then do the poll? (hehe  do the pole)
