The sight glass was homemade from a pyrex glass guitar slide, two copper reducers, two o-rings, two washers, and three bolts. The plumbing looks complex, but will basically allow me to divert through the HERMS and/or purge the coil of wort without having to move any hoses. Just flip switches and turn valves.

I'm psyched to use it. I haven't brewed an AG recipe at my house in probably 3 months. Kegs are getting empty.

Since this is the last system I will build for myself, I'm sure I'll have plenty of time over the years to "rub it". Kegs do look a bit dingy.

The new control panel will be a nice cherry on top. If you thought the plumbing was nuts, you should see the electrical schematic. It's SCARY. Nice to have at least one project left. It will have some safety features like a high limit switch and dry fire / dry pump protection on the HLT. This one might have to wait until next year's tax return.
