That's what I did too. Plus I put a red zip tie at the 5-gallon mark as a reference point.

So Mylo have you ever left your measuring stick in the brew pot a little to long and got burned when you grab it.
Just seems like something I would do after a few beers :lol:

I use a a piece of pcv pipe rated for hot water.

I am thinking I might go with the metal measuring stick as there is no need to make marks just measure it and you are good to go. But not sure yet.

You will have to make marks, either way. Due to bulges and other keg wierdness, each mark will be different.

I guess what I was thinking is I wont have to mark on the ruler. I will need to make the measurements and then print a sheet up and hang it in the garage. I do have a straight sided and flat bottom kettle.
