Brewclubs in Cleveland, OH

Wed Jul 27, 2005 3:31 pm

I am moving from Jacksonville, FL (where I am apparently the only homebrewer) to Cleveland, OH. I will be looking for a brew club. I was a member of the Star City Brewers Guild when I lived in Roanoke, VA and very much miss the knowledge and insight of the guild members. Having a chance to drink their beers is never a bad thing either!

I don't know about clubs, but I know there are quite a few brewers up there. There should be a club. Check out these shops when you get there.

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.

The two big clubs around Cleveland that I know of are the Rt 82 HBA and SNOB.... SNOB meets at the Great Lakes Brewing Company which is a must to check out. The meals are a bit prices but the beers aren't badly priced.

Another brew pub to check out is the Brew Kettle.... its definitely better priced in terms of food and drink plus they honor your AHA membership. I think its a 20% discount.

Enjoy Cleveland!

Not sure if it's still there or not but The Rocky River Brew pub had outstanding brews. I haven't been in Clevelend for about 2 years but the guy they had brewing won a lot of awards, and his Siasion was kick ass.

I have been in Cleveland now for about 12 years, and there are quite a few good places to go for a good brew (Rocky River Brewing Co., Willouby Brewery, Great Lakes Brewery, Rock Bottom Brewery......etc.). Of course I STRONGLY recommend "The Brew Kettle" in Strongsville (my home town now). They have great food, excellent selection of beers, and the owners (Chris and Pam), are a pair of the nicest people you will meet here in Cleveland. I purchase all of my grain, hops, and yeast through "Brew Kettle" since I am located quite close to them. As far as brew clubs go, there is a club in Akron called "SAAZ", but it's too far away from me to be involved with .
