Hey BN-ers,
I'm a long time listener/infrequent poster who recently went pro. I'm the co-owner and brewer of Odd13 Brewing in Lafayette Colorado.
We're interested in hosting a new type of homebrew competition: The Multi Pro Am. We'd like to invite The BN to participate. A small handful of Front Range homebrew clubs are being invited to participate, and we're also inviting The BN because that's what I always listed when I would compete. We've specifically chosen other clubs that have active presence in Colorado Front Range homebrew competitions.
The Multi Pro Am is simple. Each participating club hosts a meeting at Odd13 where club members will bring beers to be voted on. The beers involved must have earned a medal at a BJCP sanctioned homebrew competition on the front-range within the past 12 months. The club will choose three beers to be judged by Odd13's brewers. We will choose one of the three beers, brew it, and sell it in our tap room. That means each participating club will have a beer brewed. The beer that sells the best in the first week it is on tap will be our pro-am selection for the 2014 GABF.
We'd like to host the club meetings on Mondays or Wednesdays between October 2013 and April 2014 with the goal of getting the winning beers brewed between November 2013 and June 2014. We will select a winner in July of 2014 with the goal of brewing the GABF entry in August or September.
BJCP categories that will be accepted: 6, 7, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23
If there is enough BN interest, we would happily set a date for a BN meetup to taste some of the award winning BNarmy beers. If you are interested, reply to this thread and let other Front Range BN-ers know!
