Go help out at your next local competition. They'll love the help, and you'll learn a lot.


ABSOLUTELY!

Volunteer to steward. Let the judges know you are interested in tasting classic flaws as they come upon them and they will be certain to share them (and they'll share the best beers too). Good judges are happy to share, so it can be like a mini off flavor seminar for you. Great learning experience for you. Also, you'll see what "magic" goes on in a competition. (Hint, it's not magic).
