Re: Any word of NHC 2013 Hotel?

I'm being pressured by Mrs G to book a hotel very soon, and the Loews opposite the Conference hotel can be had for just over $1k for the time I'll be staying (24 June - 30 June).

I may have to pull this trigger early.

With the group package rate available for AHA members hopefully that will include the parking fee...otherwise I may have to ride my bicycle from NY!

I doubt parking is included. Besides, riding your bike will burn off some of the calories you're going to consume.

I doubt it myself. My buddy who used to live in Philly said the group rate is really cheap for the area and nobody actually pays for parking there unless their work is paying for it. You park at one of the places a few stops away on whatever they call the train there.

Here's an option for those that are driving in from out of town and
don't need the car once they get there.
I was just looking at the long term parking at the airport
and you can get by as cheap as $11 a day if all you want
to do is park it and leave the car alone till the conference is over.
You can park there and take a cab/bus/shuttle in to the hotel and
save yourself about $35 bucks a day?

This obviously won't work for everybody, but it may work for some.
Me, I'm flying in and my wife (and the kids) are staying at her sister's house
while I'm at the conference.

Good tip Bdawg. I will look into that as I will be driving in from out of town.

Unless you have money to burn do not park at the hotel! There are "cheaper" options around within walking distance to the hotel.

I say cheaper because one man's definition is different than the next. Example: the group rate of $137 is excellent for the quality hotel in this area.

The transit system here is good. Getting from the airport to hotel is an easy one train trip.

Dark Side - there are world class restaurants here in Center City (the local term for the area). There are also awesome places to eat and drink that won't cost you a fortune (again, relative, you are in a major city). I am on some of the plannig sub-committees and we'll be working on getting information on these places to attendees and hopefully some deals at the places as well. Stay tuned on that.

I'll also see if we can get some "other places to park" info on the website.

Maybe two or three, tops.

It's probably not the cornies you need to worry about. It's the co2tank instead.
