Congrats to Hoser for taking third place in the Angels Share Club Only Competition!
Club-Only Competition Results for 2010-2011
"Angel's Share" Wood-Aged Beer Competition (May 14, 2011)

The AHA thanks Steve "Sven" Kinsey and the Crown of the Valley Brewing Society of Pasadena, CA for hosting the "Angel's Share" Wood-Aged Beer Club-Only Competition held May 14, 2011. This competition covered category 22C of the 2008 BJCP style guidelines. This was the sixth of six competitions in the August to May 2010-2011 cycle, with points going toward the Homebrew Club of the Year trophy. Points are awarded on a twelve-eight-four basis for first, second, and third place in the Club-Only Competitions. First, second, and third places in both the First and Final Round of the AHA National Homebrew Competition earn points on a six-four-two basis.

Of the 53 entries submitted by AHA homebrew clubs in 26 States, the following winners were chosen.

First Place Kelly & Jason Kruegel Parker, CO Rock Hoppers "Scotchy, Scotchy, Scotch,"
Strong Scotch Ale base beer,
category 9E base

Second Place Steve Oven Brooklyn, NY New York City Bourbon Barrel Oak-Aged Porter
Homebrewers Guild base beer, category 12 base

Third Place Brian Hoesing Lincoln, NE Lincoln Lagers Imperial Stout base beer aged with
Jack Daniels Oak Chips, category 13F base

Congrats to Steve for taking 2nd! He's on a role. Just took 2nd BOS at the B.E.E.R. this weekend. I had the good fortune to judge both those beers. Mmmm mmmm mmmm
