The crowd keeps getting bigger each year. Last year, I only stayed about 20 minutes then went back to the hotel.

The funny thing is I think a lot of people did the same, which made it a lot less crowded as the night went on. The main stage area wasn't too bad, but getting to the Moonlight guys upstairs was a nightmare!

The Moonlight Braggot was crazy good, but it was way back in the room. I'd run in, fill my glass, and split to a quieter area.

It's a lot of fun, and BNA is always packed. I hope I get a chance to get a NHC ticket in the new lottery system.

The AHA seems to think that there will be enough room for everyone and that a lottery won't be needed. Hope they're right.

I really like the concept of the BNA in theory, but it was too loud, hot, and crowded for me. (Maybe I'm getting old and need a more sedentary pre-conference activity.) The beers there were excellent, tho. Our group just had to dive into a serving room, fill our glasses, and head to a lobby area where we had some room.

And it didn't help that there was a pouring rain right as the VIP dinner started. It got pretty humid in there.

I just booked the Bacon & Beer Brunch being held on Wed. during the conference. The BN, Chris White, John Blichmann and others will be in attendance according to the site. It runs from 11am-2pm, so there's plenty of time after to prepare for BNA9. Looks like it's limited to 250 tickets.

Last year I was on the bus to DFH and didn't get back until late and had to rush to BNA8. Not this year.

I was trying to stay at the joint close to the convention center. Looks like it is sold out for Friday night. Holiday Inn for me and the wife.
