Corona Clone

Wed Aug 22, 2007 5:57 pm

I know I am going to recieve hate mail for this, but I need a recipie for a Corona clone. That's all that a friend of mine drinks, and I am trying to introduce him to the world of beer. What better way than with an improved version of what he is already used to?

Did you ever brew this one Henning? I am really interested to hear how it turns out. I have the same issue with people that want only Corona.

No I have not brewed it yet your post pushed it back to the top of the list. The main reason I want to do this clone is I have a friend that brought back a couple cases of fresh corona from mexico. Outstanding beer when it is fresh and not light struck. I will be putting this on the long brewing schedule this next week since I will be on vacation a week from tomorrow. I see corona clone, another batch of bugeaters rye cream ale, denny's rye Ipa, and maybe a malty pale ale with mt hood hops in the future.

I brewed a corona clone once. IIRC, it used about 4 pounds of pils malt and 4 pounds of flaked corn in the mash. Dont recall the hops but I used white labs 380.

It was a pretty good brew. I liked it. The wife liked it. The pils malt kept it a real light color like the original stuff too.
