Warren's Russian Imperial Stout

Sun Oct 09, 2005 6:06 pm

Here's the recipe for my RIS that was discussed on the 10/09/05 show:
It has carafa III malt which I prefer to Black Patent for dark color.

RIS
Russian Imperial Stout
Type: All Grain
Date: 8/1/2004
Batch Size: 5.00 gal
Brewer: Warren Place
Boil Size: 6.0 gal
Boil Time: 90 min
Brewhouse Efficiency: 75.0

Taste Notes: After 1 year the beer has the level of bitterness I really like. Color is much darker than traditional RIS but much like West Coast RIS examples. A very dark, roasty and alcoholic brew for my tastes.
