chokecherries and beer

i just got a buttload of chokecherries and am making a wine out of some of them. has anybody made a chokecherry porter or something similiar?

Chokecherry wine is pretty damn good. As for the beer, haven't made one but would concider a belgian dark strong with some chokecherries and B. lambicus.

i made jamils dubbel and added a ton of chokecherries at the end of the boil. It was pretty awesome. I entered it at NHC and they just didnt get it, but I know it was great.

I agree that for Beer I would think some type of Belgian would be the way to go.

I think a Cider or Mead would be great with them, probably better then the beer.
