I grew up in Michigan and tried fir the longest time to get a grip on a good Oberon clone recipe while I was going to school in Oregon, I emailed friends from high school who are now pro brewers and a few fellow michigander home brewers. It's pretty much just a simple hefe recipe (50% Pils, 50% wheat, with a small amount of some saaz, maybe Tettnang)... You must culture the yeast from Oberon bottles, it's the only way. I could never get the bottles in Oregon so I was never very successful at cloning it, just made hefes... So if you can get a hold of the Oberon yeast from a bottle and are capable of culturing it (you are) then you should just apply that yeast to a good hefe recipe... That being said I've never been able to do it, so what the hell do I know... But I've made similar posts in forums and got the same response that you've been getting (crickets)... good luck breddah!
