Recipe assistance needed

Fri Nov 14, 2008 11:22 am

My wonderful wife has requested that I make her something like Full Sail's LTD 01 seasonal.
Now this is her first brewing request of me and she is MORE than patient with my brewing time so I want to do this right for her.
It tasted much like a bock to me but with more residual sweetness. It is probably one of the sweetest beers I have had in recent memory.
I was thinking of starting with Jamil's Helles as a base recipe but am unsure where to go from there...
Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

[edit - delete prior post. My bad. I was thinking of the LTD 02, which is a Helles.]

Try this instead:

Or this for the Helles:

Thanks for replying B-dawg.

I had actually already seen that page from Full Sail, however I am very much a noob when it comes to forming recipes even with that much information given.
Any other info that might be helpful getting close to the LTD 01?

Thanks again!!!

Looks close to a octoberfest or amber european lager. Here is a extract recipe i put together using the specs from bdawgs first posted page. Notice it uses steam style yeast to make it easy

I would say something like this.

12.5 pounds American 2 Row
1.5 pounds Crystal 40
0.250 pounds Chocolate

This put you at 1.064 on the money at 75% efficiency.

Secondary:
Kegged: Gangnam Style IIPA, Kentucky Breakfast Stout Clone, Oak Aged Robut Porter, Your mom
Upcoming Brew Schedule: Winter Warmer, Cider, APA
