Maibock with WY2124 and W34/70

First of all, thanks to all the BN army! :jnj
After several years of reading and listening I am really starting to have fun!!!

I just bottled a small batch of JZ's Maibock, Mmmmm... hydro sample very tasty!

I have been a dry yeast user for 3 years now. So, I decided to do a small split batch, yeast comparison with WY2124 and W34/70. Washed and repitched both yeasts. Did a Bo Pils 1st and JZ's Maibock 2cnd. Both turned out excellent! And, I pitched a third batch using the WY2124 in JZ's Schwarzbier... just for grins! (Hope the Maibock didn't wound the WY2124, but it sure took off quick!)

WY2124 version started and finished a bit earlier than the W34/70.
WY2124 was clearer, and had more character.
Second pitch started 24-36 hours quicker than the first, third pitch almost immediate!!

The collection of knowledge and sharing here is so great! It makes it EASY to make great beer!
"Just put some yeast and sugar in there and...."
