Reissdorf Kolsch

Tue Nov 04, 2008 5:48 pm

I have never brewed a beer to try and clone a commercial beer. But I wouldn't mind hearing some good recipes to get me close to this beer. If you haven't ever had it, do yourself a favor and buy one. Fantastic beer, straight from Cologne as good as your gonna get without going there IMHO.

So any tried and true recipes out there guys?

I just tapped my keg of kolsch from the jamil book, and i have to say, i cant stop drinking it. it was pretty hard to let it sit for a month especially with my friends asking if it was ready every other day. but it was worth it. awesome beer.

i would love to get a clone of schlenkerla's smokebiers....i brewed jamil's smoked marzen...although it is good and lacking of any off flavors, it pales in comparison to the schmokiddyness of Schlenkerla even with 50% smoked malt....i guess i have to go with 100%....or just drop a pound of bacon in the secondary.
