Damn this is cool!

I wish I had mroe brew experience and would have seen this sooner. Do you guys do this a lot? I'd like to jump on board with it.

Would anyone be down to do something like this for new brewers? Meaning simpler styles, extracts, and we could possibly get some Q&A from the experienced dudes/ ettes on here.

Feel free to PM me i fyou want to jump on with this and I'll start the thread.

ALEien, you still have time for this one. I think only a handful of people were able to brew last week. I think there are many more that are planning to do it this weekend. Get youself some yeast, son! I think there is an extract version of the recipe floating around in this thread somewhere. The recipe is pretty simple, ingredients wise... Although, it is a supposed to be a real clean beer and there might not be much rich flavor to "hide any flaws behind". Maybe you want to start a "Kitchen Sink Stout" thread.... :)

+1

You don't get much simpler of a recipe! It is pretty easy to convert to extract with steeping grains too.

Jump on board ALEien! If you need help or advice, that's what we are here for!

If you would like to try this as an extract it would be about 6.5 - 6.2 lbs (instead of the Maris Otter) of liquid malt extract to give you 5.5 gallons in the fermentor, and the rest of the recipe would be about the same. Steep the roasted barley. You might need to adjust the hops for utilization in a partial boil.
I think I've had about enough beer tonight...Now I need some Whiskey to sober up

Damn I wish I would have read this thread before I went out to lunch. I bought supplies for my next batch that I'm starting tomorrow night and I could have asked him about this. I'm not sure what I was thinking.

Momentary lapse of judgement and I will jump on board next time. Maybe I"ll head up the next one.

Damn beginner mind I have -- immediately assuming it's too hard :(
