North Carolina Malt

Wed Jan 02, 2013 8:05 pm

Check out this cool bag of North Carolina pilsner malt I just got. A club member toured the malthouse and brought me a sack. Very small 2-man operation floor-malting locally grown 6-row barley. I can't wait to try it. I feel an adjunct lager in my future.

I wonder if their operation is a result of nearly every brewery opening a 2nd plant in your fine state?!?!?

Looking forward to hearing how the malt does. I might just have to put this on the list of places to go when we go to nc later this year.

Just saw that they're in Asheville. Wife and I are headed there tomorrow night for the weekend. I wonder if she'll let me throw in a visit here right after the Highland Brewery stop.
