Clogged Dip-tubes

Wed Sep 07, 2005 9:55 am

After hearing about a problem with a stuck FG in a keg, I thought the questioner might have meant a stuck dip-tube. A good solution is to affix a steel dish scrubby to the bottom of the tube with a rubber band. NOTHING gets through.

or .. put the hops in a bag. Or dry hop in a secondary or primary PRIOR to racking to the keg.

I had a clogged diptube due to trub from a lazy racking.
I just "lightly jammed" the gas disconnect on there and blew some gas in there and took care of the problem for a little while.
