3/16" is correct but you also need to pay attention to the tubing itself. The Foxx Superflex and the Bevlex brands you find in the brewshops are more expensive for a reason. These have much thicker walls than the thin stuff you get really cheap at the big box hardware places like Lowes and Home Depot. The thin stuff will gradually stretch over time being under constant pressure from the keg. This will increase the diameter and start foaming even though you thought you had the length and temperature right.
