Yesterday, I was switching my picnic tap from one keg to another. I put the fitting on the wrong post. Now I can't remove the damn fitting. It's really very stuck. Any suggestions?

I have multiple kegs and stuff, so this isn't crippling, still I'd like to fix the situation.

Thanks!

Ball or pin? Could it be under pressure that is keeping the mechanism from releasing?

Screwdriver to gently pry it off?
I have done this before and it came off pretty well. Mine are ball lock style.

It's a ball lock fitting, Spider.

Yeah, ball posts are slightly different... be gentle with that screwdriver and good luck.

For future reference:

I know how to tell them apart. I just wasn't paying attention.

I was able to get it off once I hit it with a hammer and chisel a couple of times. Then I was able to get it off by prying up with the claw end of the hammer.

Fair enough... Glad you were able to get it off.

I've put my cobra tap on crooked before when I'm drunk. Nothing like being hammered and trying to pry a damn fitting loose. Feel like a damn lab rat trying to get to the cheese! :asshat:
