better bottle vs Glass

what do you use?
I was thinking of getting better bottles. instead of glass. #10 stopper fits right?
does anyone use them? or should I stay with pail and glass. but, if i ask that pail or glass?
I am leaning better Bottle if I need to secondary. pail primary
Denny Conn does it so can I

Everyone has their own opinion about it.

Get a Better Bottle and try it yourself.

I've got a 6.5 gallon glass carboy, a 5 gallon BB and 2 buckets. They're all fine and have their pro's and con's... but I do use the buckets the most.

If I didn't already have 6 carboys, a 10 gallon corney keg, and a conical for fermenting, I would probably seriously consider going to a better bottle.

I've been brewing since 1989. I started with the plastic pail, then glass carboys, and over the last year the better bottle. So far no infection issues. I have two 6.5 gallon BB. They are my primary fermenters. For any secondary or lagering I rack to 5 gallon glass carboys. I have the BB with the outlet and valve for ease of use. I also bought the BB stopper after losing a stopper into the BB on my first batch. The drawbacks--be sure you chill your wort before transfering; I've heard of people melting the BB at temps over 160 F. Be sure to either allow carbon dioxide or oxygen to fill the void as you open the valve; The plastic will implode if the pressure isn't balanced. Details can be found on the Better Bottle website. I went to them after dropping a carboy. The wife wanted me to use something safer with the kids around. The cost of a conical didn't go over well, so we compromised.

Good Luck

I might pick up on better bottle to check it out. It just seems like the air lock system is high dollar. #7 stoppper works right?

According to Austion homebrew the glass carboy's are going to be about $50 in the next few months due to the Mexico factory closing. Carboy's will have to come from Italy now.

I think you'll see pretty much everybody buying better bottles by the end of the year.
