Due to the slightly acidic nature of the wort you will run the risk of getting some ferric oxide (rust) into the wort. Something you don't want to do if you like good tasting beer. Get a little Bar Keepers Friend (powdered oxalic acid cleaner) and scrub the spot with a green scrubbing pad. This will remove the spot and passivate the polished area at the same time. If you can't get out to get some BKF, try dropping a little undiluted Star San (phosphoric acid + additives) on the spot, let it sit for just a couple minutes and then rinse and polish with the green scrubber. This should take care of the spot in short order.
