Grain Mill in Canada

Mon Apr 14, 2008 8:11 pm

Hey,

So I`ve been making the all grain conversion. And I`m interested in getting a grain mill, but I can`t find any dealers in Canada. And I dont want to deal with the duties that would be associated with shipping it in from the US. In the worst case, I`ll just wait, and if I ever find myself headed to the US, I`ll try to find somewhere to have it dropped off.

I say go for it. Buy one from a US dealer (web).
I bought mine and it got here in 3 days and I the cost was not scary at all. If you can get it expedited, a certain company (UP...) will not charge you for their stupid handling fees.
I purchased my entire All-Grain system and equipment from the U.S. All shipped in less than a week.
On tap at the LAB.

I am also interested in purchasing a grain mill. What was your total cost and where did you buy it from?

I picked up a Crankandstein 3 roller back before the guys split. Now I would go the MonsterMill route.

I didn't get hit with duties or taxes. I order a lot of gear from the US, and the vast majority never gets hit with duties or taxes - even though I'm sure it should. Just be sure to go USPS. Do not order into Canada from the US by any other means. Or you'll be sorry.

That item shouldn't face duty anyway. Made in North America.

Thank you for your email,We only use USPS for international orders for just the reasons that you stated. The mill comes with everything you need to use it right out of the box. A hopper,Mill body,Base, and crank handle.
Yes the drill motor that is mentioned to turn the rollers is just a standard drill motor.

Prices for the crushers are:
Barley Crusher with a 7 pound hopper shipped by air mail
$152.00US Dollars . (114.50 for mill and 37.50 for shipping and handling)

A Barley Crusher with a 15 pound hopper would run $176.00US Dollars buy air mail..($138.00 for mill and $38.00 for shipping and handling)

The estimated time for delivery for your Barley would be for air
mail it would take 6 to 10 days.

If there is anything else I can do for you please email me
Thank you
Randy

I'm going for the Barley Crusher, placing the order later today. If you don't think it's a good choice, speak now or forever hold you homebrew! (With no pants).
