I was watching a show on revision3.com (
http://revision3.com/systm/robots/) about DIY combat robots and they mentioned this site
eMachineShop...
They allow you to create real metal and plastic objects in a virtual machine shop. The pricing page states:"Simple jobs on simple machines generally start at around $150 for setup and as low as $1 per part (or even lower) for simple parts."
Don't know if would be helpful or not for you guys who need specialty parts..
